Skiing & Snowboarding at Beaver Creek Ski Resort, Colorado
Beaver Creek Ski Mountain is one of the top luxury resorts in the country, and one of the largest and most diverse ski areas in Colorado.
With a 4,040-foot vertical drop, 146 trails (seven specifically contoured for snowboarders), six high-speed quads, three triples, four doubles, one surface lift, and three snowboard parks, you would be hard-pressed to find a ski resort finer than Beaver Creek. And that's just one more reason to choose resort lodging with The Charter at Beaver Creek.
After making several significant on-mountain improvements and base-area developments over the last several years, Beaver Creek has now turned to enhancing the terrain, primarily by glading 100 acres in the Beaver-Creek-to-Bachelor-Gulch area. The resulting expansion has been named "Mystic Isles." This beautiful new development is entry-level terrain, perfectly suitable for children and inexperienced riders. The resort also recently boasts one brand new and one majorly improved intermediate-level terrain park.
All the lifts at Beaver Creek are now run 100 percent on wind power. Vail Resorts, the parent company which owns Beaver Creek, Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone and California's Heavenly, began buying this renewable energy source in the summer of 2006 for all of its resorts, retail and lodging properties. This wise and environmentally friendly move made them the second-largest purchaser of wind power in the United States today.
