Summer Solstice Trail Run - June 16, 2012
Celebrate the longest day of the year with an athletic event open to everyone! 5K and 10K trail runs and of course the kids K starting at 5:00pm. All benefiting the Vail Valley Charitable Fund. Following the race don’t miss the biggest post race party around with live music, BBQ and drinks all outside at Creekside Park. More info call (970) 479-2279.
Beaver Creek XTERRA - July 14-15, 2012
The Beaver Creek XTERRA is part of XTERRA's Regional Point Series Schedule. The race will start with a 1.5km. swim in Avon Lake, then mountain bike 25km. up to and around Beaver Creek and finish with an 9km trail run on Beaver Creek Mountain. There will be both individual and team categories and a free kids duathlon. The Colorado-Eagle River Ride - July 28, 2012
A one-day, 100-mile, 68 mile or 42-mile charity bicycle ride looping from Beaver Creek to Wolcott up U.S. Highway 131 to Colorado River Road down to Dotsero and back to Beaver Creek - is back! The ride route includes a ride along the Colorado River that should not be missed from the saddle. All proceeds benefit SOS Outreach, a youth development charity. The TransRockies Run - August 14-19, 2012
The sixth edition of the GORE-TEX® TransRockies Run is August 14-19, 2012. Starting in Buena Vista, Colorado and finishing in Beaver Creek, the 2012 route will have a total of 120 miles of single-track and double track through the historic wild west of the high Colorado Rockies. Along the way, runners will travel for six stages along the Continental Divide, cross high mountain summits, traverse alpine meadows and enjoy a true wilderness experience. Oktoberfest Shuffle - September 2, 2012
Join us for the Oktoberfest Shuffle. A non-competitive walk, hike, or run over their choice of a 5 km course or 10 km course across the scenic trails of Beaver Creek Mountain. As with the Snowshoe Shuffle, all proceeds will benefit the Vail Breast Cancer Awarness Group. Parking: Please park in the Bear Lot at the base of the western entrance to Beaver Creek (across from Agave restaurant). Shuttles will be available to and from Beaver Creek Village and volunteers will be stationed throughout to direct racers to the registration and start area.
